We embark on our journey from Glasgow, heading north-east towards Stirling. We'll catch a glimpse of the majestic Stirling Castle before visiting the towering Wallace Monument, home to the legendary William Wallace's sword. Our journey continues past the medieval Doune Castle, famed for its role in 'Monty Python & the Holy Grail'. After lunch, we traverse the atmospheric Rannoch Moor to reach Glencoe, the site of the 1692 MacDonald Clan massacre. We'll take a brief walk and snap some photos before heading to the stunning Glenfinnan Viaduct, a location made famous by the Harry Potter films. Our day concludes in the charming Highland town of Fort William, where we'll settle into our accommodation.
Day 2 – Day 2: Fort William to Edinburgh
Day 2: Fort William to Edinburgh
After breakfast, we venture north into The Great Glen, a fault line marked by a series of stunning lochs, including Loch Ness. We'll pause for a photo at Loch Garry before exploring the iconic Eilean Donan Castle. We continue to the picturesque village of Fort Augustus, nestled on the banks of Loch Ness, where we'll stop for lunch. Our return journey includes a photo stop at Ben Nevis, Britain's highest mountain, and a gentle walk through The Hermitage's idyllic Scottish woodland. We conclude our tour by crossing the Forth Bridge to Edinburgh. If you're continuing to Glasgow, your guide will assist you with the short train journey.
