SLOVENIA: HIKING ROUNDTRIP

Check out from your hotel and drive towards the Vršič Mountain Pass. This road, built during World War II, is a testament to history, with a memorial dedicated to those who lost their lives during its construction. Optionally, you can hike to Slemenova Špica, a grassy viewpoint near Vršič, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding mountain walls. In the afternoon, continue to the Soča Valley for check-in and overnight stay.

Today, visit Kozjak, home to one of Slovenia's most beautiful waterfalls. The 15-meter waterfall plunges down from the Krn range through the rocks, offering a stunning view. Before returning to the hotel, take a leisurely walk along the Soča River and admire the myriad shades of green and blue that the valley has to offer.

Leave the Soča Valley behind and head towards Bohinj, the largest Alpine lake in Slovenia. Nestled in the embrace of the Julian Alps, Bohinj is a paradise on earth, with the mountains reflecting on the water surface. Check into your hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure, soaking in the serene beauty of the surroundings.

Drive to the lower station of the gondola to Mt Vogel. A 10-minute ride will take you to the top, from where you can hike to Orlova Glava or Šija. Both trails offer amazing views and unique flora and fauna. In the afternoon, take the gondola back to the valley and return to your hotel.

From Bohinj, walk up to a mountain cottage located in the picturesque Voje Valley. The hike takes you through the breathtaking Mostnica Gorge, a 2-kilometer-long gorge carved out by the clear Mostnica forests. Before returning to the hotel, stop at a local farm to taste some home-made products, such as cheese and bread.

Take a short drive from Bohinj to Bled, another Alpine gem nestled in the heart of the Julian Alps. Bled, often referred to as a paradise, is a small town with a lake and an island with a church in the middle. According to legend, ringing the bell three times can fulfill your wishes.

For your final day, hike up to Ojstrica Hill above the lake. This is one of the most stunning and most photographed viewpoints as it offers exceptional views of the lake and the surrounding mountains. In the afternoon, take a leisure stroll around the lake for a final goodbye to this paradise.
