"Camino de Santiago" (Way of St James): Portuguese Way from Tui -100 km

Upon your arrival in Tui, a charming town on the border with Portugal, you'll be able to explore its many attractions. These include the International Bridge over the River Miño, the remains of the 12th-century wall, the Porta da Pía, the Cathedral of Santa María, and the Diocesan Museum. You'll also visit the Chapel of San Telmo and the Convent of the nuns of the Order of St. Clare. On the outskirts of town, you'll find the Gothic church of Santo Domingo. You'll spend the night in Tui.

After breakfast in Tui, you'll set out for O Porriño. Once there, you'll visit the Town Hall, the 'Botica Nueva', the Fountain of the Christ, and the 'Templete de San Luis'. Don't miss the chance to taste the famous bread of O Porriño, renowned for its flavor and texture. You'll spend the night in O Porriño.

After breakfast in O Porriño, you'll make your way to Redondela, situated at the end of the Estuary of Vigo. Here, you'll be greeted by a Roman Milestone, a fitting welcome to this historic village. You'll also visit the pilgrims' hostel, the house of Santa Teresa, the Convent of Vilavella, and the church of Santiago. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to enjoy a leisurely walk around the park of Alameda. You'll spend the night in Redondela.

After breakfast in Redondela, you'll head to the first city on the Portuguese Way in Spain - Pontevedra. As you wander around the historic district, you'll visit the Sanctuary of the Pilgrim Virgin. Through the 'porta do Camiño', you'll enter the Ferrería Square, a lively spot filled with bars and terraces. Nearby, you'll find the Convent of San Francisco, the Square of the Star, the House of the Faces, the Gardens of Castro Sampedro, and the Provincial Museum. You'll spend the night in Pontevedra.

After breakfast in Pontevedra, you'll journey to Caldas de Reis, the birthplace of King Alfonso VII of León. Known for its therapeutic thermal baths, Caldas de Reis offers a perfect opportunity for relaxation. You'll also explore the town, visiting the church of Santa María, the church of Santo Tomás Becket, and the botanic garden. You'll spend the night in Caldas de Reis.

After breakfast in Caldas de Reis, you'll travel to Padrón, a town famous for being the landing place of the lifeless body of St. James in 44 AD. Here, you'll visit the church of Santiago, the Bridge of Santiago, the Fountain of Carmen, the Convent of Carmen, and the House A Matanza (Museum House of Rosalía de Castro). Don't forget to try the local delicacy - the peppers of Padrón. You'll spend the night in Padrón.

After breakfast in Padrón, you'll embark on the final stage of your journey, heading to Santiago de Compostela. Once there, you'll have the chance to explore numerous landmarks. The main attraction is the Cathedral and the 'Plaza del Obradoiro', but the historic district also offers a wealth of sights. You'll have the opportunity to taste the local gastronomy and visit iconic buildings such as 'Hostal de los Reyes Católicos', 'Monasterio de San Martín Pinario', and 'Pazo de Raxoi'.
