Embark on an unforgettable 8-day journey that takes you through the heart of Spain's picturesque landscapes, charming villages, and historical sites. This multi-day tour begins in the vibrant city of León and concludes in the spiritual city of Santiago de Compostela. Along the way, you'll traverse the plains of Castilla, ascend the León mountains, and explore the green valleys of Galicia. You'll also have the opportunity to appreciate the unique architecture of Castrillo de los Polvazares, visit the longest pilgrimage bridge in Spain, and explore the best-preserved Celtic settlement in northern Spain. Each day is filled with exciting activities, delicious meals, and comfortable accommodations, ensuring a memorable experience.

Breakfasts will be continental style with cold cheese, meats and bread, plus pastries, tea and coffee.
Vegetarians: Please be aware that a meat and fish diet is the norm in northern Spain. Many vegetarians have not experienced any problems; however, please be prepared to be flexible. Please note, mealtimes in Spain are later than in many other countries; dinner is usually taken between 9pm and 9.30pm.

In the smaller villages, we stay in characterful family-run casa rurales and in larger towns we stay in larger hotels. All have en suite facilities and are situated beside the Camino de Santiago.
There will be a local cycling leader and an assistant leader driving the support vehicle.
Transfers to and from the airport will be by private vehicle (normally minibus). While cycling, the vehicle will carry your baggage and be on hand with assistance or if you choose to sit out a section of the ride. A guide cycles with the group.
Airport transfers are included for those on the group flights. Please note that transfers are not included for clients arriving on any other flight, even if Exodus has booked it.
If you require airport transfers, you may (by prior arrangement only) be able to join the group transfer. Transfers are arranged to coincide with the arrival time of the group flight ‐ please check the group flight details 2 weeks before departure. If you do not take this transfer, or miss it, you must make your own way to the joining point at your own expense.

Our journey begins in the vibrant city of León. If time permits, we'll visit the stunning Gothic Cathedral and wander through the city's winding narrow streets. In the evening, we'll gather for a trip briefing and our first group meal. Accommodation: Apartahotel Exe Campus San Mamés (or similar).

Today, we venture into the countryside, crossing the plains of Castilla. We'll pass through quaint villages with adobe houses and wine caves, and stop for lunch in Hospital del Orbigo. Here, we'll cross a medieval bridge, one of the longest pilgrimage bridges in Spain. Our day ends in the walled town of Astorga, with views of the León mountains in the distance. Accommodation: Hotel Gaudi (or similar).

We leave the Castilian plains behind and gradually climb into the León mountains. En route, we'll pass through Castrillo de los Polvazares, known for its unique orange-coloured stone architecture. We'll also ride through the mountain village of Acebo before descending into Molinaseca, enjoying stunning views of the surrounding valley. Accommodation: Hostal El Palacio (or similar).

Today's highlight is the ride to the beautiful town of Villafranca, with views across the green valleys of Galicia and the wooded mountains of León. We'll pass through vineyards in the wine region of El Bierzo before climbing to Villafranca. Then, we cycle to the village of Ambasmestas, nestled in the picturesque valley of Vega de Valcarce. Accommodation: Hotel Ambasmestas (or similar).
Day 5 – Day 5: Ambasmestas to Portomarin

We start the day with a transfer to the mountaintop village of O'Cebreiro. Here, we'll enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding valleys and admire the traditional slate-roofed black houses. As we enter Galicia, we'll pass through traditional agricultural villages and enjoy lunch in Samos, home to one of Spain's oldest monasteries. Our day ends in the charming town of Portomarin. Accommodation: Hotel Villajardin (or similar).
Day 6 – Day 6: Portomarin to Arzua

We start the day with a climb to the best-preserved Celtic settlement in northern Spain. Then, we'll cycle along a picturesque stretch of the Camino, crossing several Roman bridges and passing Medieval churches. We'll stop in Melide, renowned for its octopus with potatoes dish, before ending our day in Arzua, famous for its cheeses. Accommodation: Hotel Arzua (or similar).

Our final day takes us through several short ascents and descents towards Monte de Gozo. From here, we'll make our way to Plaza del Obradoiro, dominated by the impressive Santiago de Compostela Cathedral. Those who wish can visit the Pilgrim's Office to obtain the compostela, a certificate of accomplishment. Accommodation: Hotel Loop INN Santiago (or similar).
