Discovery of Spain & Portugal - 15 days

Welcome to Madrid, one of Europe's most dynamic capital cities. After your arrival at the airport and clearing immigration, you'll be transferred to your first-class hotel. In the evening, enjoy an 'Illuminated Madrid' drive through the bustling streets of the old city, culminating at the historical and impressive Plaza Mayor. Here, you'll find some of the most typical restaurants and taverns serving delicious 'tapas'. Return to your hotel at your leisure.

After a buffet breakfast, embark on an escorted sightseeing tour of Madrid's most outstanding attractions, including the Puerta del Sol, Alcala Gate, Plaza de España, and Plaza de Oriente. In the afternoon, you have the option to explore Madrid's famous Art Museums or take a tour to the former capital city of Toledo. Here, you'll wander through narrow cobblestone streets, absorbing the medieval atmosphere, and visit the magnificent Gothic cathedral and St. Tome Church, home to El Greco's masterpiece painting.

After breakfast, we depart for the magnificent medieval city of Segovia, known for its 2000-year-old Roman aqueduct and impressive Alcazar Castle. We then pause in Avila to admire the perfectly preserved 11th-century city walls before continuing to the charming old university city of Salamanca. Enjoy an afternoon city tour and a lively walk through the beautiful main plaza in the evening.

Today, we head north into Galicia and arrive at the beautiful city of Santiago de Compostela. In the afternoon, we'll take a guided tour of the old city and its stunning cathedral. Enjoy a relaxing evening at the hotel, where a delightful dinner awaits.

After breakfast, we depart for Rias Baixas and continue our journey to Portugal. We visit the town of Viana do Castelo, located at the mouth of the Lima River, with its historic center and castle. We then proceed to Porto, the capital of northern Portugal in the Douro region.

After a buffet breakfast, enjoy a guided tour of Porto, a city beautifully situated on the banks of the Douro river. The highlight of the day is a visit to a local Port winery. The afternoon is free for you to explore at your leisure.

After breakfast, we depart for Aveiro, known as the 'city of canals' and often referred to as the Venice of Portugal. We then continue to Fatima, one of the pilgrimage centers of Christianity, where you'll have free time to visit the basilica. We then proceed to Lisbon, where you have the option to enjoy an evening of Fado music while savoring a delicious dinner.

After breakfast, embark on a morning tour of Lisbon, a city beautifully perched overlooking the Tagus River. Admire its splendid avenues and monuments like the Tower of Belem and the Jeronimos Monastery. In the afternoon, we strongly recommend a visit to the charming villages of Sintra and Cascais.

After breakfast, we depart for the Spanish border, pausing in Merida to admire the impressive Roman Amphitheatre archaeological site. We then continue our journey to Seville, the capital of Andalusia.

After breakfast, embark on a tour of Seville, Spain's third-largest city. Visit the Tower of Gold, the tranquil Maria Luisa Park, the quaint Santa Cruz Quarter, and the massive cathedral with its Giralda Tower. In the afternoon, you have free time to continue exploring or shopping. In the evening, we suggest an optional Flamenco Show.

After breakfast, we depart for Cordoba, where we'll visit its famous Mosque-Cathedral. After some free time for lunch, we continue our journey to Granada.

After breakfast, enjoy an escorted tour of the magnificent Alhambra and the verdant Gardens of the Generalife. In the afternoon, we depart for the east coast of Spain, arriving in Valencia for the night.

After breakfast, take a morning city tour of Valencia, including a visit to the new area of Museums. In the early afternoon, we continue north to Barcelona, one of Europe's most cosmopolitan cities. In the evening, dine at the Pueblo Español, featuring architectural replicas from all of Spain's regions.

After breakfast, enjoy an escorted tour of one of Europe's most beautiful cities. Explore the ancient Gothic Quarter with its magnificent cathedral, admire the exterior of Gaudi's masterwork, the Basilica of the Sacred Family (Sagrada Familia), and visit Montjuich Hill for a spectacular view of Barcelona and its port area. The afternoon is free for you to explore at your leisure.

Enjoy breakfast and some free time before being transferred to the airport for your departure flight. You also have the option to book extra nights in Barcelona to continue exploring this vibrant city.
