Landscapes of Northern Spain & Portugal - 15 Days (Small Group)

Upon your arrival at the airport, you'll be greeted and transferred to your hotel. At 19:00, meet your Tour Director and fellow travelers for a welcome meeting at the hotel's reception desk. Your Tour Director will provide all the necessary details about the city and the schedule for the following day. The rest of the day is yours to relax and settle in. After a hearty buffet breakfast at your hotel, set out for a morning city tour of Madrid. Immerse yourself in the city's vibrant culture and explore its iconic landmarks. The afternoon is free for you to continue your exploration. Optionally, you can take an excursion to Toledo, a city rich in history and culture. In the evening, join your fellow travelers for an authentic Tapas dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight stay at your hotel (or similar).

After breakfast, we head towards the Northern Spanish territories. Our first stop is Laguardia, located in the heart of La Rioja, one of the most famous Spanish wine regions. Here, we'll visit a traditional family-run wine cellar and taste the world-renowned Rioja Reds. After a light lunch based on local products, we continue to Bilbao. The rest of the day is at your leisure. Overnight stay at your hotel (or similar).

Start your day with a buffet breakfast at your hotel before exploring Bilbao with a local guide. Visit the iconic Guggenheim Museum and wander through the historic 'Siete Calles' district. After admiring the Guggenheim Museum's modern architecture, we head to San Sebastian, one of Europe's most elegant destinations. Enjoy a traditional Pintxos lunch in the old town's taverns and spend some leisure time exploring the town. We then drive back to Bilbao for an overnight stay at your hotel (or similar).

After breakfast, we depart for the Northern mountains and Atlantic sandy beaches. Our first stop is Santillana del Mar, a historical artistic town in Spain. We then continue to Covadonga, where you'll have free time to visit the Sanctuary and the Grotto. In the afternoon, we head to Oviedo, where you can explore the city's pedestrian streets and World Heritage sites like The Cathedral. Overnight stay at your hotel (or similar).

Today, we journey through the Galician landscapes. We make a short stop at Mondoñedo, where you can visit the 13th-century Cathedral and try the delicious 'Mondoñedo's cake'. We then continue to Lugo, known for its Roman walls, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Finally, we reach Santiago de Compostela, a significant center of Christian Pilgrimages in Spain. Overnight stay at your hotel (or similar).

After breakfast, spend the day exploring Santiago de Compostela's old cobblestone streets and historical beauty. Visit the Obradoiro Square and the Cathedral (entrance not included), dedicated to the Apostle Santiago. The rest of the day is at your leisure. Optionally, you can experience a typical Gallegan dinner with Queimada, a traditional ritual involving an 'esconxuro' summoning. Overnight stay at your hotel (or similar).

After breakfast, we continue our journey to Salamanca, a University City and a World Heritage site known for its great architectural and artistic wealth. Enjoy a city tour and immerse yourself in the city's rich history. Overnight stay at your hotel (or similar).

We bid farewell to Spain and set off to discover the beautiful landscapes of Portugal. Our first stop is Pinhao, a charming town on the Douro Riverbank, famous for its centenary cellars. After a wine tasting experience and a local products-based lunch, we continue to Porto, one of the oldest European towns and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Overnight stay at your hotel (or similar).

After breakfast, explore Porto and admire its landmarks, including the Cathedral, Stock Exchange building, and Santa Clara church. Enjoy a Douro River Cruise and spend the rest of the day at your leisure. Optionally, you can visit Guimarães, one of the oldest cities in Portugal and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Overnight stay at your hotel (or similar).

After breakfast, we depart to Aveiro, known as 'The Portuguese Venice'. Enjoy a cruise on its beautiful canals aboard a traditional Moliceiro boat. After exploring Aveiro, we continue to Coimbra, one of the oldest universities in Europe and the birthplace of Fado. Spend some leisure time exploring the city. Overnight stay at your hotel (or similar).

After breakfast, we depart to Tomar's Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage site. We then continue to the picturesque fishing town of Nazaré and the medieval walled town of Obidos. Spend some leisure time in each town before we continue to Lisbon, the capital of Portugal. Overnight stay at your hotel (or similar).

After breakfast, join a morning city sightseeing tour of the ancient Olissipo. Drive through its main squares and avenues, visit landmarks like Belem Tower, Jeronimos Monastery, Monument to the Discoverers, Marquis of Pombal Square, and Liberty Avenue. The afternoon is at your leisure. In the evening, join your fellow travelers for a typical Portuguese dinner at one of the oldest Fado venues in the city. Overnight stay at your hotel (or similar).

After breakfast, we bid farewell to Lisbon and Portugal and drive back to Spain. Our first stop is Mérida, the capital of the ancient Lusitania roman Province. We then continue towards Madrid. Once back in Madrid, join your fellow travelers for a final Farewell dinner. Overnight stay at your hotel (or similar).
