Welcome to Madrid, the capital of Spain. Check into your hotel and take some time to relax. In the evening, meet your Tour Director and fellow travel companions for a welcome dinner.

Start your day with a guided tour of Madrid, exploring its main sights. End the tour with a walk in the Barrio de La Latina, where you'll have the chance to taste typical Spanish tapas in one of the many local bars. Optionally, you can take a trip to the historic city of Toledo, known for its rich history and art.

Travel southeast to the city of Cuenca, known for its 'Hanging Houses' that are suspended over a ravine. Continue your journey to Valencia, Spain's third-largest city, for a guided sightseeing tour.

Visit the medieval Peñíscola Castle in Castellon, built by the Knights Templar in the 14th century. Continue your journey through orange groves and seaside resorts to Barcelona, Catalonia's lively and beautiful capital.

Sightseeing with a Local Guide includes a drive around Montjuïc to see the Olympic Stadium and a panoramic view of the port and city. Continue to the city centre of Plaza Catalunya and to Paseo de Gracia to admire Gaudi's architectural masterpieces. Spend the afternoon at leisure.

Leave Spain today and cross the border into France to visit Collioure, a picturesque village nestled on the rocky Mediterranean coastline. Carry on to Marseille, the oldest city in France.

Explore the ancient heart of Marseille—the picturesque Vieux Port. Follow the coastal route toward Cassis, a charming fishing port, and stop to explore the town before reaching Nice. Optionally, you can join the Monte Carlo by Night excursion.

Start the day with a visit to a perfume workshop in Èze. Continue to Nice and spend time at leisure. Stroll along the famous Promenade des Anglais or join our optional excursion to the artists' town of St. Paul de Vence.

Enjoy the wonderful coastal scenery along the French and Italian Rivieras as you travel toward the Cinque Terre. Take the train in Levanto and stop in some of the most enchanting villages of the spectacular Cinque Terre region.

Travel through the agricultural areas of the Po plains to reach the romantic city of Verona. Take some time to explore the city centre at leisure before continuing to the Venice area.

Venice is a city of unparalleled beauty and a feast of wonderful sights. Your included orientation starts with a boat ride to St. Mark's Square. Enjoy some time at leisure and a chance to watch Venetian glassblowers create their delicate objects as they did centuries ago. Optionally, you can take a gondola trip along the picturesque canals.

Cross the Po Delta and head into the verdant Apennines to medieval Assisi. Visit the Upper and Lower Basilicas dedicated to St. Francis, featuring beautiful frescoes by Giotto. Continue your journey to Rome.

The 'Eternal City' is steeped in history, vibrantly alive, and absolutely unique! Start the included introduction to Rome's landmarks from St Peter's Square with a Local Guide. Enjoy a drive along the iconic landmarks of the city and complete the experience with a walk back in time from the Circus Maximus to the Arch of Constantine and to the fascinating Colosseum, symbol of the Roman Empire.
