Northern Spain Explorer

Welcome to Madrid, the enchanting capital of Spain. Upon your arrival, you'll have the day to explore the city at your leisure. Visit the world-class museums or stroll through the expansive El Retiro Park. In the evening, meet your tour leader and fellow travelers for a welcome meeting and dinner. Overnight stay will be in a comfortable hotel in Madrid (or similar).

After an early breakfast, we leave Madrid and head north to Bilbao, the cultural hub of the Basque region. Upon arrival, we'll explore the old quarter and the bustling La Ribera Market. In the afternoon, marvel at the architectural wonder of the Guggenheim Museum. Overnight stay will be in a hotel in Bilbao (or similar).

Today, we journey to the coastal city of San Sebastian. We'll stop at the town of Getaria to learn about its famous anchovies. In San Sebastian, we'll explore the old town, visit Monte Urgull, and sample the local cuisine. In the evening, we return to Bilbao for an overnight stay at our hotel (or similar).

This morning, we head south to La Rioja Alavesa, a region renowned for its quality Rioja wines. We'll visit a local winery to learn about the wine-making process and sample some exquisite wines. Later, we'll check into our hotel near the picturesque town of Laguardia (or similar) where you can relax or explore the surrounding vineyards.

Today, we journey through the regions of Navarra and Aragon, stopping at Pamplona and the historic town of Olite. We'll join a section of the Camino de Santiago and visit the grand cathedral in Pamplona. In the afternoon, we reach Zaragoza, where we'll explore the city's Moorish architecture and visit the impressive El Pilar Cathedral. Overnight stay will be in a hotel in Zaragoza (or similar).

After breakfast, we head towards Catalonia, stopping at Agramunt to visit a traditional chocolate maker. We then continue to Montserrat, known for its unique rock formations and the ancient Benedictine abbey. We'll take a scenic train ride to the top of the mountain, where you'll have the afternoon free to explore. Overnight stay will be in a hotel near the monastery (or similar).

Today, we continue our journey to Barcelona. After a walking tour through the city's historic quarters, you'll have the afternoon free to explore. We recommend a visit to Gaudi's Park Guell for its stunning views and unique architecture. Overnight stay will be in a hotel in Barcelona (or similar).

Today's highlight is a guided visit to Gaudi's masterpiece, La Sagrada Familia. We'll also explore the Eixample neighborhood and take a metro ride up to Montjuic hill for panoramic views of the city. The rest of the day is yours to explore Barcelona at your leisure. Overnight stay will be in our hotel in Barcelona (or similar).

Our memorable journey through Spain comes to an end today. After breakfast, you're free to depart at any time. If your flight is later in the day, you can store your luggage at the hotel. We hope you enjoyed your time with us and look forward to welcoming you on another tour soon.
