Perfect Portugal & Southern Spain - 14 days

Today is dedicated to exploring the enchanting city of Porto. We'll embark on a guided city tour, visiting the Cathedral, Stock Exchange, and Santa Clara Church. We'll also enjoy a scenic cruise on the Douro River and visit one of the riverfront Port Wine Cellars for a tasting of the local drink. In the evening, we'll gather for a group dinner at one of the oldest Fado venues in Porto.

We leave Porto after breakfast and head to Coimbra, a riverfront city known for its ancient university and as the birthplace of Fado music. After some free time to explore, we continue our journey to Fatima, an important Christian pilgrimage site. Here, you'll have the opportunity to visit the Sanctuary of Our Lady Fatima and possibly attend the candlelit procession in the evening.

Today, we visit the UNESCO-listed Batalha Monastery, a Gothic masterpiece, and enjoy some free time in the quaint fishing village of Nazare. We then head to Alcobaca to admire the 12th Century monastery, one of the finest examples of Gothic architecture in the world. Afterward, we complete our journey to Lisbon, the capital city of Portugal, where you can spend the evening at your leisure.

Leaving Lisbon, we cross the border back into Spain and head to the southern region of Andalusia. We'll stop in Caceres, a city known for its blend of Roman, Islamic, Northern Gothic, and Italian Renaissance architecture. After some free time to explore, we continue our journey to Cordoba, where you can spend the evening at your leisure.

This morning, we tour Cordoba, an important Roman city and an Islamic center during the Middle Ages. We'll visit the sprawling La Mezquita mosque-cathedral and take a stroll through the Jewish Quarter. Afterward, we depart for Seville, the capital of Andalusia.

Today, we explore Seville on a guided tour. We'll visit the city's cathedral, the second largest in the Catholic world, and wander through the Santa Cruz Quarter. We'll also stroll through Maria Luisa Park and the picturesque Plaza Espana. The afternoon is free for you to further explore Seville at your own pace.

Today, we travel to Granada and visit the famous Alhambra complex, a stunning example of early Islamic architecture. We'll also tour the adjacent Generalife Palace and Gardens. After some free time in the city, join us for a group dinner and a Flamenco show.

We return to Madrid today, stopping in the imperial hilltop city of Toledo en route. We'll enjoy a short tour of the historic Old Town before completing our journey back to the Spanish capital, where you can spend the evening at your leisure.
