Entrance to The Fado House in São João Novo

Amazing evening, incredible performance and vocals and to top it off a lovely glass of port wine! A must do when you visit Porto.

We saw this performance two nights ago. The venue is very traditional with good acoustics. All three performers were very good but the musician playing the Portuguese guitar was simply outstanding. I can't recommend this venue highly enough.

An enchanting evening of music (and Port). Claudia brought goosebumps with nearly every song, and both Miguels brought the music alive with their guitars.

What a incredible experience. So glad I choose this experience. The location in the old wine cellar added to the event. Hosts were absolutely fantastic and kept our glasses topped up. Both the singer and the two guitars players were fantastic. The music was beautiful and we even got to join in which was fun. It was really interesting to hear about the history of the music and the songs too. Cannot recommend this enough

A great experience - learned about the 2 types of fado and experienced Lisbon Fado. The musicians were super talented and the singer had the most powerful voice. The ambiance of the place added to the experience. One warning for those who aren’t able bodied - descending steep stairs is required.

Do not miss a Fado performance while you are in Porto. I was taken by the performance. The musician’s adept guitar work was impressive and the vocalist’s singing was passionate. I appreciated the information they shared about Fado. The wine cave was perfect for this genre of music, however, tight with the number of patrons in the space. Highly Recommend!

The musicians, the singer, the stories about the history of this art form. The music was fantastic and the venue made it extra special.

We loved the music and atmosphere. Such a delightful performance by Ana Ferreira and Giuseppe D Mello (I hope I have their names right and I’m sorry I can’t recall the name of the other guitarist who was amazing too! Such a lovely way to end the day. No need to understand the language - the feelings and the emotions had such an impact. Well hosted too.

This experience is an absolute must visit. The setting was in a cellar which added to the authenticity.

. The musicians and singers were so talented and you could tell how much they love what they do. They described the history & art of Fado, as well as invited the group to participate in certain songs.
