This was a wonderful excursion from Kiruna. Frederick was very welcoming and had so much knowledge to share about his culture and we had an enjoyable time feeding the reindeer and sledding with them before a tent-cooked dinner of reindeer pitas.

We had a fantastic time with Frederik, the Sámi herder. We shared his daily activities with the reindeer herd, and we learnt to ride a sledge. It was a lot of adrenaline and an unforgettable experience! Frederik also supplied us with a lot of interesting information about the Sámi life, and about the reindeer and their relationship with the environment.

It was the best experience we had during our trip to Kiruna. To see and interact with the reindeer was simply amazing. The guide Peder was also very knowledgeable and friendly, and we learned a lot about the reindeer and the Sami culture as well.

This experience is more than just reindeer sledding. You learn about Sami culture and you get to meet lots and lots of cute reindeer.
You even get to go inside the pen of the male and the female reindeer and feed them lichen, which is like candy to them. While they are eating you might be able to pet them a bit as well.
The sledding was fun, too. Our reindeer was quite mellow and took its time to do the tour. :)

Every aspect of the day was memorable and so worth taking this tour. It was an incredible experience to be taken into the forest to feed the reindeer , learn more about the Sami culture, go on a sled ride led by a reindeer and then have a delicious lunch in the Sami traditional tent . Thank-you so much!

I expected a touristy, crowded experience in a reindeer pen. Pleasantly surprised to find us a group of 8, Frederick as our one and only guide, herder, chef (with one helper), and hundreds of reindeer. We fed and mushed the reindeer and sat on reindeer hides to eat traditionally prepared reindeer sandwiches. It was perfect.

Be ready to participate. This is hands on, lots of walking, and Fredrick puts you to work! You get personal with the animals and Fredrick is an amazing guide to the Sami culture and way of life.
