Rhodes Wine Tasting Experience

Excellent wine tasting. Food and wine pairings were spot-on. Excellent location and learned a lot about the basics of tasting. Helpful, knowledgeable and friendly Sommelier. Worth the price.

We were gifted the wine tasting by my daughter at Christmas. Although we do drink wine we shop in Aldi, and get the same every week. So we didn’t know what to expect from a wine tasting evening. However, we were pleasantly surprised. We were fascinated by some of the methods of wine making. Especially the wine that is matured under the sea. We learned about the history of Greek wine making and how much of the technique had been lost, but is slowly being regained.

My wife explained that she only drank wine with Lemonade. Our host was shocked and said they didn’t have any Lemonade on Rhodes island😀.

We were surprised on how much the flavour of the wine and food changed between the different types of wine.

All together a wonderful experience we thoroughly enjoyed. We would recommend this for beginners and experienced wine goers.

The Obscura wine bar was amazing. The husband and wife owners were knowledgeable and delightful. The location is lovely. They specialize in biodynamic wines from the region. I highly recommend this experience.

Bought this experience for husband’s birthday who is a wine expert ( or so he thinks! ) 🤣

Lovely bar, imaginative cocktails which are worth a try & then onto wine tasting. Great experience would highly recommended.

Friendly, knowledgable and amazing surroundings. If you’re in Rhodes this is a place to try, not only are the wines great but you need to try the cocktails! The only thing that would make this experience better would be an option for food however not a deal breaker as the place is surrounded by many restaurants.

We dis not know what to expect, but the visit was so nice. The place was like a hidden pearl, and the workers where very friendly. Our «wine-guide» let us taste wine we never would find any other places and told us about all the family secrets for each product. He also recomended wine-yards to wisit all around Greece (for next years holliday!)😍

You may think, why wine-tasting in Greece? Well, they have their own way of making wine that can not compare to Italian/french og Spanish wines. As people of «true red wine lovers», we ended up beeing true white wine lovers from Greece.

What a great afternoon full of information and learning about the wines. From being greeted and welcomed by every member of staff we settled in with a complimentary glass of fizz as we arrived a little early. We don’t consider ourselves to be connoisseurs but enjoy trying different wines. The assistant sommelier (Alexandra) guided us through and had answers for every question we had and has extensive knowledge about every aspect of the journey from grape to glass, which was very impressive. I can’t honestly recommend this experience enough. The people on the next table stopped us after we had finished as they were intrigued and were booking on the back of hearing and seeing what we experienced.

The wines were unreal! All of the wines were super but I’ve never experienced a rose wine that smells of fresh vine tomatoes but tasted so light and delicate. The vintage is so small that they don’t export so the tasting is a great way to discover the best of the best of Rhodes and Greek wines.
