Amazing trip! Would highly recommend. The weather was full on but our tour guide/driver made us feel in very safe hands. She was very knowledgeable and so warm towards our children. The stops were breathtaking and this a day we will remember forever. Thank you!

My daughter and I booked this trip last minute and we’re so glad we did! Cannot recommend it highly enough. The trip went ahead even though it was just the two of us! And snowy -even leant us crampons! Our guide was fantastic talking to us all the time even on the journeys from place to place, pointing out interesting features and telling us about Icelandic traditions and ways of life! And the places we visited were stunning in the snow. would like to return in the summer to see the contrast, it’s such beautiful place and was a full day and fantastic trip.

Bad weather resulted in a port cancellation where we had a tour booked with The Traveling Viking. No tour. No Myvatin Nature Baths. No one’s fault but we are still disappointed.
What we are not disappointed about is reserving with Traveling Viking. They guaranteed a full refund if weather prevented us from showing up and they delivered. It took some time but it showed up!
We missed 3 of 5 ports on this cruise. All weather related. Some passengers who booked off ship tours did not use companies that provided refunds. Do not take that risk. Use TTV.

We had a great day tour out around the Myvatn area with our guide Lilya.
Being able to stop and see all of the sights in this interesting volcanic area was a great change to our own driving and sight seeing. We learnt so much more about the geology and history of the area than we might have if seeing solo.
Our conversations with Lilya covered local history and culture, Icelandic food and local customs, troll folklore, travel and agriculture. Lilya was great in covering the areas of our interest in her commentary.
This is a locally owned and operated business and I would highly recommend booking direct with them.

We had a great day trip with Lilja. She was very informative and a great driver. She was very accommodating and even gave us a small tour around the town at the end of the day.

Lilja our guide and driver promptly picked us up at the pier. She provided detailed information about each of the area's we visited, personally escorted us around these sites, provided a helping hand when necessary and offered to take our pictures at notable photo stops. I would highly recommend The Traveling Viking

Akureyri was MAGNIFICENT and Helly showed us some of the BEST that Akureyri had to offer & left us looking forward to more! The North Icelandic was more spectacular than I ever expected & Helly made us look forward to much more!

Hogni did a great job! It was a full day, and a good one. Beware the midges at Lake Myvatn (Midge Lake). I took head nets, but there were only a few around when we were there so we didn't need them. We went in the hot springs at the lake, and I wish I had brought towels from the ship, because renting them was expensive. This was our 5th day in Iceland, and the first with any blue sky to speak of, so that made it even better. The Yellowstone-like mud pots and smoking wasteland was really cool, as was the waterfall.
