Private Porto from Lisbon with Portuguese lunch and Porto wine tasting

We had a wonderful trip. It was a long day to go from Lisbon to Porto and back, but well worth it. The views in and around Porto were wonderful as the sun came out after some morning rain. Hugo was knowledgeable and a great traveling companion. The wine tasting was interesting and the lunch was simple yet representative of Portuguese fare. It was a very nice day trip.

Arthur was a wonderfully informative guide. He was social and conversing was pleasant. The sites were beautiful and the wine tour was amazing. We enjoyed walking along the river and buying crafts from the vendors. Lunch was very good. The best white port wine I've ever had. My family and I really enjoyed this experience.

We had an incredible day in the city of Porto with our knowledgeable and friendly tour guide Arthur. The visit to the port wine cellars was interesting and enjoyable. Arthur then took us to a non touristy restaurant where the food was delicious. Porto is charming with stunning views from several spots. Would highly recommend this tour noting it’s a very long day. This tour was impeccable from the moment we got picked up! Philippe was an amazing guide and also became a friend by the end of the trip - he knew his way around the city and showed up promptly in his super comfortable van. We loved how much he shared along the drive and even once we got to the city we got to hang out and customize the trip based on what we wanted to see. Lunch was amazing and the food was great, super large portion sizes and we could order whatever we wanted and got a lot of wine! The wine tasting for us was at the very end and it was just a great way to end the whole thing. The whole day was very full of activity and having Philippe there made it way more fun and planned than what we would have done on our own.

We booked a last minute tour with Phillipe and what a cool experience! Philippe was super communicative and it was clear from the moment we met him that he was going to go above and beyond and make the experience so special. He drove us all the way there and back in a super nice and comfortable van. We spent the whole day together and hung out and got a really efficient and thorough tour of the city of Porto, and he even customized the tour for us along the way. He was always super cheerful and a delight to hang out with - he made the whole thing super smooth and the food we had was all 5 stars as well. The wine tasting was at the end for us which was a great way to end the experience and all of the places selected were better than what we would have done on our own. I highly recommend the experience!

This was the best way for us to be able to see a bit of Porto in one day. Our guide/driver Hugo picked us up and delivered us back to our hotel in Lisbonand was completely accommodating with our interests and helped to make this a fantastic day.

In order to complete this review, I had to select just one activity—in this case, Porto. But in fact, four friends and I hired Knight Riders to give us a six-day private tour throughout many sites and small towns of Portugal. This was our first travel experience with Knight Riders, and we would definitely use their services again.

Our drivers/guides were Hugo and Philipp, since we split into two groups for part of the time. Both were knowledgeable and personable, gentle spirits who quickly became fun traveling partners. In fact, Philipp spent all six days with us and we felt as though we made a new friend by the end of the trip. We visited Sintra, Coimbra, Mafra, Porto, the Douro River, and many other small towns in between. All arrangements were efficiently scheduled in advance, making good use of our time.

All-in-all, our trip was easy and fun — we covered 1400 kilometers with curb-to-curb service, assistance with our luggage, and several spontaneous pastry stops in between visits to planned locations! We also enjoyed several exceptional preplanned lunches at local restaurants specializing in traditional Portuguese food — including some of the best seafood I have ever eaten.

My friends and I are in agreement — we would definitely use this company again, and would in fact ask for the same drivers/guides. Five stars all the way!
