This was our first tour. I liked how our guide kept us moving! I wish we had had headphones as the accent was new at this point of our trip and my hubby had only some knowledge of Harry Potter and JK Rowling so it headphones would take the strain of listening away. I thought it was great to learn and experience so much in a short time! Especially at the museum. Thank you for the fun and inspiration from how JK Rowling wrote HO. Changed my walk through this world. I like the magic at the end but not the prayer😢.

Sam is great and incredibly knowledgeable and entertaining. We really enjoyed the tour. We really enjoyed all we saw in Edinburgh while learning more about Rowling and the Potter world.

Thank you so much for the kind review Floyd.

Sam puts a lot of heart into his tour. He adds many small details and personal touches and gifts. My son loved the tour and we all learned a lot.

Oh cheers Amy, four and a half hours can be a slog for some younger kids but ancient city visits are HISTORY HISTORY HISTORY, so I think it's a fair gamble to think an excursion from that will engage. Thank you for the generous review and I was (and now even more so) happy that you chose me. x Sam

Our tour guide Sam was not only very knowledgeable about Edinburgh but also was a compendium of knowledge on the writing and life of JK Rowling. This is a must if you want to experience her inspiration for her books and walk in her footsteps as she dreamed them up. Lots of fun facts about not only the Potter books, but also Fantastic Beasts and her other books. Great for burgeoning writers or just those who love a good story.

Thanks Leslie! T'was the aim 💯 ...Doing right by the most important novelist alive.

Sam is the GOAT! What a fountain of HP and JK Rowling knowledge. Sam catered to our groups' specific needs and interests. If you are looking for a unique tour of Edinburgh, a deep dive into the world of Harry Potter and the mind of JK Rowling, Sam is your man. His pace is lively and passion for the subjects is contagious.

Oh my, Oh my, Oh my. Thank you so much! I think I was able to cater to your families individual interests because you were all so passionate about the books, albeit distinctly. It was a privilege to guide folk who so keenly appreciate JK Rowling's accomplishments. I'm not AT ALL unhappy you chose me. Thank you.

What an amazing experience! I booked the tour with my 7 year old daughter. Even though I didn’t know much about Harry Potter my daughter is a fan I thoroughly enjoyed the entire tour. It covers the beautiful magical Edinburgh and Sam is a delight to head the tour. Sam was amazing and so well informed. He answered all of my daughter’s questions and kept her so engaged. I highly recommend this tour for all ages. Will definitely book it again when in Edinburgh again!

You consulted the tour choice with your 7 year old... interesting. It's a lot of reading, over a million words, perhaps deserving of consent, especially given my tour is SO SO SO long and SO SO SO not cheap. Yes, Rowling's been here 30 years, it will be the longest stretch of her life anywhere. Potter was largely written pre-iPhone, so a fair amount of time was spent lost down Old Town closes (alleys) seeking cafes or paper. Rowling seems curious, so she would likely be interested in her environment when ready answers were available. I offer the same: context. But the tour bubbles when it has visitors with a great, ideally reader-heightened interest in JK. Glad you chose me. Thanks for the kind review & lovely pictures Sharmeen, you're my Boy Who Lived. 😘 Sam

Amazing tour learning all things Harry Potter and JK Rowling. The guide was super knowledgeable and he sprinkled in trivia and some fun surprises along the way.

Thanks so much for taking the time to write this Rachel. Your first review, and it was for me 💫 Yes I have longer tours, consequently much is contained in my brain and I can steer pilgrim's interest into answers like a Cleansweep through cloud, bursting into sunlit fluff in heartbeats. Well sometimes, other times I'm fog-bound the whole way. It's no good being a Seeker in fog. Not since the ICWQC outlawed metal-detecting charms. Thanks for seeing me, glad it wasn't pure dead terrible. Much love. x Sam

Sam was an incredible guide! He was insanely knowledgeable and can easily customize the tour to the interests of the group. He added in fun things like costumes and even had gold coins to win the House Cup! He made sure to give you breaks to sit since it is a lot of walking but you get to go all over Edinburgh and see things you may not have even known were there! 20/10 I cannot recommend this tour but mainly Sam enough! He even stopped and bought us all ice cream which was incredibly kind and not needed!

Oh yes, the benches, I do like sitting people down, helps them concentrate. It's great come Autumn when the benches are available. Muggles are sprawled all over them all summer. I have tried to 'IMPERIO!' them aside but never again. I used to love skiing but after Azkaban, it's beach holidays all the way.
Ah yes my Whisky ice cream, it's a sparkler in your mouth ✨ Scotland's smallest ice cream parlour has now shut for winter, so you were the last.
Thanks so much, Michaela. May your dining be as fabulous as Hogwarts and your winning as fine as Slughorns 😊
