Sun and Wine Route - Small group, wine tasting and lunch included

We did the Sun and Wine Tasting day out which we can thoroughly recommend.

Our team of 4 Brits were picked up at 8.45 am by our guide Miguel in Caleta followed by a couple from Norway at 9am in Nerja. We headed straightaway inland into the mountains for our first stop in Torrox Pueblo. There our walking history tour began as we weaved our way round the streets and the Old Town. We learned about the Arabic village architecture designed to keep out invaders and Almanzor, the great leader of the Moors. We admired the wonderful views straight down to the sea. Then it was on to Competa much further up into the mountains with even more spectacular views for another walking tour to learn about its history and traditions and the importance of donkeys, an absolute necessity for life back then. We had a very welcome break for coffee in Competa at about 12 noon before heading to the 5th generation family-run small bodega whose wines were selected by a group of blind wine tasters for the Spanish King's wedding 20 years ago - showing how special their wines are. Again, much information about the traditional hands-on method of wine production along with the delicious wines to taste and the small shop to browse and select products to buy from. The mountain scenery was spectacular with the almond trees blossoming into pink and white froths and the mimosa trees showing off their yellow bloom. Having become slightly tipsy, our tummies were ready for a delicious 3 course lunch in the village of Sayalonga, with plenty of choice, at about 2.30pm after which we were delivered back to our respective locations, having had a marvellous day out.

Miguel was such a great guide, full of historical information (and current day facts!) great fun and a fantastic grasp of the English language. Thankyou Miguel!

Guided tours are usually of varying quality, but this tour was truly a highlight. First of all, we ended up with two couples from Liverpool, just their presence enhanced the experience. Regarding the guide and the guide's knowledge and ability to deliver interesting and relevant information, it was magnificent. He captured our attention, without being too intense. Just taking us up to the heights on those roads, would make many hesitate, but with a sure hand the guide drove us up in a very pleasant way. The walks through the different villages, how the small-scale wine production is conducted and the wine tasting afterwards, were all an incomparable experience. We are so grateful for this tour and have already thought about the next tour, when visiting Nerja.

We had a fabulous day with Miguel driving us. It was very informative and we saw some interesting places but it was a very relaxing trip. Miguel made us all feel very comfortable and we had a few laughs along the way. More than that though, he just kept telling us what we were looking at with lots of history tagged into the trip. The stops were all worthwhile in the villages, bodega for wine tasting and lunch. The scenery was stunning and we would both thoroughly recommend this trip.

This was our second tour with Oletrips and again it was outstanding. A well planned small group tour which visited Torrox Cómpeta and a small family run bodega. It was all delightful but the bodega visit and wine tasting was a wonderful insight into a traditional industry hosted by the lovely Maria. Our tour guide Miguel was outstanding - charming informative and excellent company. We will certainly be booking again on our next visit - a really excellent company.

Lovely day out with Cipriano visiting a number of villages around the Nerja area. Cipriano was very knowledgeable and having such a small group made the whole experience much more personal. Visited Torrox and Competa before visiting Bodegas Almijara for some wine tasting (very nice :)) , followed by a lovely lunch to round off the trip. Would definitely recommend it and I would happily use Oletrips if I am in the area again.

Had a fantastic tour with Miguel yesterday. Great to vist some authentic places, good stops for refreshment and lunch. Miguel was brilliant guide right pace some good recommendations and funny too. Amazing vineyard would recommend. Maria very informative.

I had a wonderful day with Mikkel who showed us around in the beautiful small white painted villages. He had a good knowledge about the history of them. We stopped at several places and it was just great to taste that wine. It‘s very special and I would have never experienced something like that! Also I liked being in sich a small group cause we could get to know each other. Great experience! Book it!

Amazing day today just back from this trip . Our guide cipriano was fantastic very knowledge on the area telling us lots of interesting information answering lots of questions we had.

Pickup time was perfect right in time introducing himself we were a group of 4 and we picked up another two ladies . Headed up to torrox old town for a guided walk then into competa which is beautiful quick coffee and sandwich then into the wine tasting which was great bought some lovely wine small place which was lovely . Headed into spalonga for an amazing three course lunch . Really enjoyed the day and would 100% recommend this tour and the tour company. Thank for a great day .

I was a solo traveller for the first time at the age of 70 and very nervous. Maria, in the office gave me the confidence to go on the tour and she was so lovely. I was picked up outside the office at 9am and there were 8 on the tour.

Cipriano was our driver and couldn't be faulted. We all felt very safe on the narrow , winding roads.

The whole trip was delightful and I especially enjoyed the history.

The highlight however was the wine tasting. We were told how the different beautiful wines were made and tasted 3 different wines. All were different and all were lovely. The prices to purchase were amazingly good value. I would love to have taken more home but weight restrictions at the airport limited me to 2 bottles!

This is a must tour and like me , you don't have to be knowledgeable about wines, just enjoy learning and drinking!

How a wonderful day with Cipriano as our guide and driver. Learnt so much, saw the essence of the small villages and were absolutely blown away by the winery. Small and traditional and excellent wines.
