We booked the tour on a rainy day, and our guide, Hal, flexibly proposed to shift it to the following day which was expected to be sunny. It was a great call. Meet-up location was clear and coordination was good (we were late, our own fault). The boat ride was through the public commuter boat system, and, on a sunny day, it is a lovely experience travelling in the Bosphorus with great views of Karakoy, Sultanahmet, and later on, Kadikoy. Walking around with Hal felt like being part of the local community. Good way to build confidence in exploring lesser know parts of Istanbul.

It was great to experience the Asian side of Istanbul. I don’t think we would have done this if not for the tour. There are so many different sides to Istanbul and it would have been a shame if we hadn’t seen this side.

Haduk was amazing and so knowledgeable. as a local, he knew all the best spots and was kind and engaging during the trip. This activity and his guidance made me incredibly comfortable travelling to, from, and around the Asian side of the city.

The tour guide was such a nice person, funny and so easy to talk to and very well prepared. I recommend the tour, especially the 5 PM tour, because you can admire a very beautiful sunset.

Very enjoyable to be shown around Kadikoy by a local. It’s very different to the main tourist sites which made a welcome change and the shops, market stalls and restaurants are inspiring and much cheaper. The historical context our guide explained is also very interesting. It’s very easy after the walk to find a good place to eat there afterwards and no problem getting back by ferry or other public transport afterwards -our guide explained all this to us and made sure we could find our way back easily
