Day 1 – Day 1: Whitley Bay

Welcome to the charming coastal town of Whitley Bay, where your adventure begins. Check into your accommodation from 3 PM, with convenient parking available nearby. If you arrive early, take a leisurely stroll along the golden sands to the iconic St. Mary's Lighthouse, a haven for nature enthusiasts. At 6 PM, gather in the hotel reception for an introductory briefing with your tour leader, followed by an optional group dinner to meet fellow travelers.
Day 2 – Day 2: Bowness on Solway to Brampton

After a hearty breakfast, embark on a scenic drive to Bowness on Solway. Here, you'll be equipped with a hybrid bike, perfect for today's terrain. Cycle through the breathtaking Solway Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, following Route 72 along the Solway Firth. As you pedal towards Carlisle, consider exploring the medieval Carlisle Castle. Continue your journey to Warwick Bridge and ascend to Brampton, where you'll spend the night. An optional evening walk around the serene Talkin Tarn glacial lake awaits.
Day 3 – Day 3: Brampton to Haltwhistle

Today's cycling adventure takes you through captivating Roman heritage sites. Begin with a visit to Lanercost Priory, where the remnants of a 12th-century Augustinian priory await. Pedal onward to Birdoswald Roman Fort, where you can explore the longest remaining stretch of Hadrian's Wall. After a challenging climb, reach Greenhead Bank for a lunch break and a visit to the Roman Army Museum. Conclude the day with a gentle ride to Haltwhistle, where you'll rest for the night.

Cycle through the picturesque South Tyne Valley to Bardon Mill, then ascend to the remarkable Vindolanda archaeological site. Take a break at the on-site café and explore the ongoing excavations. Continue your journey to the historic village of Corbridge, where you'll spend the night. Once a Roman garrison town, Corbridge offers the chance to visit the remains of Corbridge Roman Town. Depending on accommodation availability, you may stay in Corbridge or Hexham, known for its stunning Abbey.
Day 5 – Day 5: Corbridge to Tynemouth

Embark on your final cycling journey along the River Tyne Valley, traversing minor roads and cycle paths. Pass by Ovingham Bridge and the birthplace of George Stephenson in Wylam. Navigate through Newcastle's vibrant city center before reaching the North Sea at Tynemouth. Celebrate your coast-to-coast achievement with the stunning ruins of Tynemouth Castle and Priory as your backdrop. Conclude your adventure around 4 PM, with convenient metro access for onward travel.
