Start your day with a taxi ride to Lanercost Priory, Cumbria's best-preserved Augustinian monastery. Marvel at the intact triple tier arches and cloisters, then embark on a walk back to Greenhead along the Hadrian's Wall Path. Along the way, you'll pass the remains of numerous Milecastles and Turrets, and the impressive Birdoswald Fort. Overnight in Greenhead.

Visit the Housesteads Roman Fort & Museum, one of the best-preserved Roman forts in the country. Walk along the Sewingshields Crags with excellent views over Broomlee Lough and on to Chesters Fort.
