Fire, Earth, Ice and Water

Depart from Reykjavík and journey to the geologically significant Thingvellir National Park, home to the world's oldest democratic parliament. Continue to the Geysir high thermal area, known for its hot springs and steam vents. Capture the explosive eruptions of the Strokkur geyser before heading to Gullfoss, one of Europe's most impressive waterfalls. End the day in the town of Fludir, where you'll spend the night in a local guesthouse.

Depending on the weather, you'll either head to the highland accommodation 'Hrauneyar' or drive south to the ring road. Along the way, you'll visit the stunning waterfalls of Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss. You'll also have the opportunity to see the DC 3 Plane Wreck, a popular photo spot. Your day ends in Solheim, where you'll stay overnight in a guesthouse.

Start your day at Dyrhólaey, where you'll marvel at the rock gate towering over the sea. Visit Reynisfjara Beach, known for its black sand and basalt columns. Traverse the Eldhraun Lava Field before reaching Skaftafell National Park. If conditions allow, embark on a night trip to Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon for a chance to see the Northern Lights. Overnight stay in a guesthouse near Skaftafell.

Spend another day in the stunning Skaftafell area. In the morning, revisit the Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon and, weather permitting, explore an ice cave. In the afternoon, return to Skaftafell National Park for a short hike to Svartifoss, a waterfall known for its unique basalt columns. Overnight stay in the same guesthouse as the previous day.

Experience the unique landscape of the south coast in a new light as you journey back to Vík. Along the way, revisit the Eldhraun Lava Field and discover new photo opportunities. Before reaching Vík, make a detour to a small church nestled in a secluded valley, a symbol of Iceland's rural solitude. Overnight stay in a guesthouse near Vík.

Dedicate this day to photography as you revisit some of the tour's highlights. Capture the grandeur of Dyrhólaey, the beauty of Reynisfjara Beach, and the eerie allure of the DC 3 Plane Wreck. Overnight stay in the same guesthouse as the previous day.

On your final day of exploration, drive around the Reykjanes peninsula. Visit the Krisuvik Geothermal Springs, the famous Blue Lagoon, and the Gunnahver Hot Springs. On your way back to Reykjavík, stop at a prominent fissure in the earth, a testament to Iceland's geological activity. Overnight stay in a guesthouse in Reykjavík.

Depending on your flight schedule, enjoy breakfast at your accommodation before a group transfer to Keflavík International Airport. From there, embark on your individual journey home or continue your travels.
