4 Days ABRUZZO TOUR - from Rome

We commence our journey from Rome, heading towards the beautiful city of Tagliacozzo, renowned for its medieval buildings nestled at the foot of the Marsica mountains. After exploring Tagliacozzo, we proceed to Sulmona, the birthplace of the poet Ovidio, where we'll admire the medieval gates, aqueduct, and charming fountains that grace the old town. We'll also have an opportunity to taste the city's famous confetti. The day concludes in Pescara, where we'll spend the night.

Day two begins with a tour of Pescara, a city that beautifully blends modern architecture with historical landmarks. We'll then journey to Lanciano, known for the Eucharistic miracle that occurred in the 18th century, and visit the symbolic Church of Saint Francis. Our next stop is Ortona, a Roman city famous for its beaches and the Aragonese fortress. We'll also explore the picturesque Trabocchi Coast, dotted with unique fishing machines on piles. The day concludes with a return to Pescara for an overnight stay.

On the third day, we head to L'Aquila, a city known for its Roman and medieval architecture, and visit the famous Fountain of the 99 Spouts. We then traverse the breathtaking landscapes of Gran Sasso National Park en route to Teramo, an ancient city nestled between the Apennines and the coast. Here, we'll explore the elegant urban ensemble of palaces and churches around Piazza del Municipio. The day concludes with an overnight stay in Teramo.

The final day of our tour takes us to Tivoli, a town renowned for its gardens and baroque villas. We'll visit the old town and the magnificent Villa d'Este, a 16th-century masterpiece of the Italian Renaissance, complete with stunning gardens, fountains, and decorations. After a day of exploration, we return to Rome, marking the end of our memorable journey.
