From Meran to Lake Garda Hike & Charm

Begin your journey in the heart of South Tyrol, a town brimming with Mediterranean charm. Spend your day exploring the delightful arcades and following in the footsteps of Empress Sissi along the historic Passer esplanade.

Venture through apple plantations along the Waal paths, leading to an impressive waterfall. Your trail takes you through the hills of Tisens and up to the historic Church of St. Christoph. After a beautiful woodland hike with fantastic views of the Etsch valley, you reach Nals, a quaint village nestled amidst apple orchards and vineyards.

Embark on a fascinating hike on the trail of castles, where you can admire diverse historic architecture. In the afternoon, explore the region of 'holes in the ice', a natural phenomenon that allows you to discover icicles in midsummer. Your day ends at the serene Lake Kaltern.

Travel to the Mendelpass by train in the morning and enjoy the phenomenal view before you continue your comfortable walk towards Nonstal. Journey through amazing canyons and idyllic small villages to the pilgrimage site of Saint Romedio. Your day ends in the charming village of Coredo, where you can enjoy the Italian comfort in the heart of Trentino.

After a short transfer, admire the impressive landscape of Nonstal before beginning your walk along the 'Way of St. James'. The path leads through wide woodland areas up to Cavedago with its famous triple-arched bridge. Continue across the wetland of a karst lake towards Andalo and then on to the village of Molveno, situated at the foot of the Brenta-Dolomites and the same-named mountain lake.

Enjoy the fascinating alpine world of the tall peaks of the Brenta group! Ascend into the mountain area by cable car and discover one of its most beautiful hiking routes. Stop at a Rifugio (mountain hut) for a typical Italian snack and enjoy the impressive view of the surrounding mountain tops, before descending to the crystal clear, green tarn Lago Nembia.

At the end of your hiking week, walk through the untouched meadows of the valley of Lomason. Climb up to Rifugio Monte San Pietro, where you are presented with a stunning view of Lake Garda. Walk down through winding streets and archways, past stonewalls to the castle of Tenno. On the last few kilometres of your tour, walk through olive groves and Mediterranean cypress vegetation until you reach the goal of your hiking week, the banks of Lake Garda.
